Campi Flegrei is a caldera nestled amongst the Bay of Naples in Italy, and was another VUELCO target volcano during my PhD project. I first visited this region (and the accompanying Mt Vesuvius) as part of a 1st year undergraduate fieldtrip (2008). I went back with the VUELCO project in 2014 to conduct an unrest and eruption simulation in partnership with Italian researchers and civil authorities, and in 2018 for the Cities on Volcanoes conference.
